Virgin Trains to Increase the Amount of Body-Cams to More Than 500
After a comprehensive and successful trial of Body Worn Video (BWV) cameras, Virgin Trains took the decision to purchase Pinnacle PR6 body-worn cameras for more than 500 frontline staff.
They started initially with 275 in February 2018 and now with over 500 PR6 cameras in daily use, this initiative has improved safety and reduced physical abuse towards staff by more than 30% in comparison to the same period the previous year. With this documented success of an over 80% drop in abuse overall Virgin Trains are planning to roll these cameras out to much of their front line staff in an effort to create a safer working environment.
As a result, other train operating companies (TOC's) throughout the UK and Europe including Merseyrail, Translink and Network Rail have followed suit and we are very pleased that Pinnacle is now regarded as the TOC BWV camera provider of choice.
"We would like to give a big thanks from team Pinnacle to all our good friends at Virgin Trains and we look forward to our continued excellent working relationship! "- Team Pinnacle
