Pinnacle Response Celebrates New partnership with Retailers Against Crime
Pinnacle Response has recently become a member of the illustrious Retailers Against Crime (RAC) syndicate as the chosen body-worn camera (BWV) providers.
This not for profit community interest conglomeration was founded over 20 years ago for the express purpose of deterring crime and acts of violence by sharing information on local and travelling offenders to affiliated members.
Specialist staff are trained to recognise known offenders and their patterns allowing them to forewarn fellow RAC members who can then deter crime before it happens. The RAC identify over 30% of previously unknown suspects, often resulting in prosecution. Crime prevention information gathered helps to promote awareness and public safety.
The Retail Crime Survey issued by the British Retail Consortium in March 2019 states that the direct financial cost of retail crime in 2018 rose to £900m, an increase of 28% from 2017. Theft remains the most common type of crime, and accounts for over 75% of the total cost of retail crime.
Due to the increasing prevalence of retail crime the RAC have come up with an innovative new programme to change the way retail crime is perceived by the younger generation. This includes visiting local schools and conducting interactive workshops with the pupils. The aim is to highlight the consequences of their actions and the repercussions felt by their families, community, local economy and the business itself.
Pinnacle Response is proud to be working with retailers to combat the increase in customer theft by supporting frontline staff with our latest PR6 Body-Worn Cameras. The cameras enable retail staff to record incidents to be uploaded and stored securely in the Digital Evidence Management (DEMS) system providing a camera to court solution resulting in higher conviction rates. Body-worn video cameras act as a visual deterrent reducing the overall crime rate of the area.
Team Pinnacle Response is looking forward to continued strong relationships with all members of the RAC moving forward.
Colin Stanford, Managing Director of Pinnacle Response;
We are very pleased to work alongside our friends at RAC.
With many high street shops and brands competing against on-line sales, effective loss-prevention is crucial for retailers.
