Pinnacle Response has recently been granted approval of Patent No GB2554136 for the wireless upload of footage from body-worn video cameras, this patent covers the new and innovative aspects of wireless upload technology automatically when a wearable device is placed into a hub or dock. A wireless transmitter within the device will be automatically activated allowing the device to connect to a wireless network and upload data securely. The user simply sets one of the units into the hub and the wireless data upload is taken care of without the need for further action by the individual. This patent also includes the automatic deactivation of the wireless communication in response to the device being removed from the hub and/or the complete upload data. Upon completion of the wireless upload the devices will automatically erase all previous content ready for the next user. When fully charged and all data has been securely uploaded, the camera will display an illuminated solid green led.
Failing to upload vital evidence by user error, or being unable to connect a device to the computer or server can have serious consequences to an investigation. Pinnacle Response’s invention ensures their customers avert this problem by making the secure upload followed by data deletion from the devices both wireless and automatic. During this process the battery is topped up saving energy and extending the operational lifetime of the camera.
