Mandatory Body-Cams for Bailiffs
Debtors and bailiffs in England and Wales will now have greater protection under the law with new legislative guidelines come into practice today. Body-worn cameras are now compulsory for bailiffs under government plans to improve the treatment of people in debt. The Ministry of Justice said the move should help protect those in debt from "intimidation and aggression" used by some rogue bailiffs.
The new legislation will make body-worn cameras mandatory ensuring debt is collected in a fair and safe manner, with offenders being held accountable. The body cameras will be worn by around 2,500 certificated enforcement agents including High Court enforcement officers, tasked with collecting various debts including those related to council tax, traffic penalties and rent arrears.
Pinnacle Response already work with enforcement agencies such as DCBL and Court Enforcement Specialists to name a few. We welcome all enquiries from those who would like more information regarding our PR5 and PR6 body-worn cameras and how to operate under the new regulations.
