NHS Lothian roll-out PR5 body cameras
Combating anti-social behaviour
In a move roundly supported by unions, Pinnacle Response PR5 body cameras are to be rolled out across NHS Lothian car-parking sites. It is hoped that the cameras with their overt CCTV and Audio markings will deter aggressive behaviour against staff working in the car-parks. Incidents of aggressive behaviour; sometimes violent assault, have risen from 81 in 2013/14 to 141 in the last twelve months.
Car-parks under pressure
Staff were initially introduced to the pressurised car-park facilities to help drivers park efficiently and keep critical routes clear for emergency access. However for their efforts the staff increasingly become a target for angry hospital visitors. NHS Lothian have taken the step to introduce the body hardware in a bid to protect their workforce.
